Little Princess Trust

HairPlay Little Princess Trust This week, here at HairPlay, we decided to focus on a topic which is very close to our hearts and something we have had the joy of witnessing many times in our salon. This post isn’t about us, it’s about you: our wonderful clients who make an incredible sacrifice to help make a difference to other young people. We are so honoured to be able to be a part of this process and wanted to really honour you and all you have done to support the Little Princess Trust. What is it? The Little Princess Trust is an incredible charity that encourages people to donate their hair which is then made into the highest quality, real hair wigs for children and young people experiencing hair loss, for a multitude of reasons. Furthermore, they also take on monetary donations in order to cover the cost of making, providing and fitting these wigs for young people all over the UK. Why are we talking about it? The reason we decided to talk about this trust is because we have been amazed by the number of our clients who have spent years growing their hair to finally have that big chop and donate to the trust at the end. We really wanted to use our platform to give a huge shout out and well done to all those that have donated. We also wanted to help support the trust further as we have had lots of people ask about it since our most recent post about a client’s donation! What is HairPlay’s Role? Honestly, this isn’t about us and in the grand scheme we do very little – when you book in for your appointment one of our wonderful members of staff will help you with the process by giving you a fabulous (and shorter) haircut. Our role is to simply make you feel comfortable and we are just honoured to be a part of the process. Although, we also hope that this post may help the trust even more! Can I, or my little one, donate? Of course you can! Anyone can take part in donating their hair to the trust and for all the details we really encourage you to visit www.littleprincesses.or.uk/donate-hair as it has all the information you need to know in order to make a donation! However, to give you a little highlight of what is necessary we have also included this little list:
  • The minimum hair donation length is 7inches (although there is greater demand for 16inches)
  • Dry hair
  • Natural coloured hair (even if it is dyed)
